The IXTHUS First Voyage

While for some, Labor Day weekend signals the time of year to take the boat out of the water, at Gordon it’s time for the IXTHUS (the marine biology boat) to go in—just in time for the start of marine science courses.

Marine biologist Dr. Walter Cho is planning a fantastic first voyage, where students will take various measurements and sample the ocean bottom along the way.

Photo: Craig Story, associate professor of biology, moves the IXTHUS down to the lower lot behind the Ken Olsen Science Center to remove the winter frame and do a final pre-voyage check.
