Gordon Welcomes President D. Michael Lindsay

Dr. D. Michael Lindsay officially became the eighth president of Gordon College today. At 8 a.m. the campus gathered in the Ken Olsen Science Center for a special Service of Prayer. Those gathered included administrators and staff as well as many faculty who came back to campus for this important day in Gordon’s history.

The service opened with a meditation on Psalm 19:14, followed by the classic hymn I Sing the Mighty Power of God, and featured prayers of thanksgiving, prayer for the Lindsays, and prayer for Gordon’s community and its role in Christian higher education. Greg Carmer, dean of chapel, closed with a meditation on Ephesians 1:15–21.

To learn more about President Lindsay, visit the new president’s page on the Gordon website. Students, alumni, parents and friends are invited to join in prayer during this time of transition. A special prayer guide and calendar begins today and continues through the inauguration on September 16.
