Men’s Tennis Honored By TCCC

As announced by The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC), Gordon College senior Carl Quinion (Westerville, Ohio), junior Gary Gaudio (Miller Place, New York) and sophomore Nate Musser (Madison, Wisconsin) have been honored with All-Conference accolades for their efforts over the 2011 men’s tennis season.

Quinion was chosen as TCCC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year for his excellence in both academics and athletics at Gordon. A double major in chemistry and philosophy, he has accumulated a 3.54 GPA, received international attention for his research concerning possible treatments for lymphoma, and coauthored an article published by the American Society of Hematology. On the court the two-time captain has compiled a 7-4 conference record at the number 2 singles spot this season, good enough for TCCC All-Second Team honors. Additionally, he and doubles partner Musser posted a 2-4 and 5-0 record at number 1 and number 2 doubles, respectively, earning themselves spots on the Honorable Mention team.

Gaudio received a Second Team nod for his singles play after collecting impressive wins over Regis College, Colby-Sawyer College, Curry College, and Anna Maria College.

The Scots were also honored with the TCCC Team Sportsmanship Award for their outstanding play and character on the court.

The men concluded their season at 10-10 overall after falling in TCCC quarterfinal action to Endicott College, 5-4.
