Women's Soccer: All-New England Honors

Gordon College senior-captain Katie Knaus (Kensington, Connecticut), sophomore Karina Scavo (Mount Sinai, New York), and sophomore Caitlin Nedde (Colchester, Vermont), have been named to the New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) All-New England team for their play in the 2010 season.

Knaus, a Second Team selection, earned her first NEWISA recognition for her efforts in helping anchor the back line in each of the Fighting Scots’ 19 games. Scavo and Nedde received Third Team nods after contributing 24 points (eight goals, eight assists) and 30 points (13 goals, four assists), respectively, to Gordon’s cause.

All three were also recognized by The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) as All-TCCC selections at the close of the conference season, Scavo garnering First Team honors and Knaus and Nedde earning Second Team.

The Scots finished at 10-8-1 overall after falling 2-0 to the top-seeded Hawks of Roger Williams in the TCCC quarterfinals.
