The Rough & The Holy

Actor Jeremiah Gamble, founder and director of Theatre for the Thirsty, gave three performances on campus last week. With a performance (photographed above) in Chapel and two performances of his play The Rough & The Holy in Gordon's Black Box Theatre, students were introduced to real and fictional characters who were eye-witnesses to Jesus. "Spend 20 minutes with Jeremiah, and you realize God has used the study and creation of these works to deeply affect, inform and even transform," says faculty member Jeff Miller, who directed a piece for Theatre for the Thirsty during his sabbatical several years ago. Following the Wednesday Chapel performance, Gamble and Miller discussed how their work has taught them about everyday holiness inspiring us "to empty ourselves to be open to God."
